Build up the teacher within.

Carve out 14 weekends (and 2 weekdays) between September and April and seriously upgrade your understanding of the vast scape that is yoga and our human bodies. This is a must for all teachers who have completed any 200hr YTT.

Our time together is a deep investigation into specific Level 2 and 3 yoga poses, how to analyze them to make great sequencing choices, and how to understand classroom energetics to make great teaching choices. We dive deep into hands-on assisting, reading bodies, biomechanics, and the business of yoga to help you develop practical teaching skills and the ability to advance your teaching goals.

Focus of Study

ASANA: In-depth exploration of specific Level 2 and Level 3 asanas including alignment, use of props, how to practice and teach them, anatomy, energetics, and how to use the asana as a template for exploration

ANATOMY: Anatomy, as applied to yoga and movement, so you understand what you are doing when you are doing it (and what it does) to inform your teaching of people (we’re not memorizing bones and muscles here!), and your sequencing

SEQUENCING: Learn how to sequence classes that progress towards a specific teaching goal. Learn to cultivate fresh and inspired class themes (it’s not always a peak pose), and learn how to ‘tell a story’ and create an experience in your classes

SUBTLE BODY ANATOMY: In-depth exploration of the Dhatus (the seven tissues of the body), Dosas (governing principles of the body/universe), Nadis (subtle energetic channels), the Srotas (the physiological channels), and the Pancha Vauys (the five inner winds)

THE ORIGIN OF EXISTENCE: Understand the relationship between Purusha, Prakriti, the Self, and the Gunas from the perspective of consciousness

SEQUENCING WITH AN AYURVEDIC LENS: Learn how to teach and sequence classes based on Dosas and your informed observation of the environment, the room, and your students

YOGA NIDRA: Learn the fundamentals and methodology to practice Yoga Nidra and guide others into a deep state of relaxation

BIOMECHANICS w/ Jules Mitchell- Do you have an insatiable curiosity about how the body works? Are you unsatisfied by anatomical explanations that seem contradictory, unnecessarily complicated, or oversimplified? Put an end to all the conflicting messages and just get the facts. Jules combines her love of research with her top-notch teaching skills to help you make sense of it all and empower you to think critically and become a natural problem solver.

READING BODIES Learn to read student’s bodies and how to best assist that student, if needed, with your words, hands, or a specific use of a prop.

HANDS-ON ASSISTING Learn specific hands-on assists in common poses and strategies to make your physical adjustments effective and welcome.

TEACHING PRIVATES Learn how to run your private yoga teaching business including client programming, finding and retaining clients, and other practical skills.

THE BUSINESS OF YOGA w/ Amber Karnes Learn to be an unforgettable teacher and grow your student base by getting clear on your unique offering.

In essence, our 300hr Teacher Training is an experience of connecting the dots and starting to build your own narrative about yoga through what interests you and what you are learning, and then how to teach that effectively.
